摘要

The introduction of selenium into an iron(II) complex could enhance its antiangiogenic efficacy by suppressing VEGF activation and AKT signaling pathway, and by activating p53-mediated mitochondrial dysfunction, thus leading to increased endothelial cell apoptosis. An underlying mechanism accounting for the angiogenesis inhibition effects has been proposed. More information can be found in the Communication by Tianfeng Chen et al.
