摘要

Photothermal therapy (PTT) has attracted extensive interest for cancer treatment in the past years. In this study, chitosan (CS)-modified Cu2Se nanoparticles (CS-Cu2Se NPs) were synthesized with the aim to provide cancer chemotherapy and PTT. CS-Cu2Se NPs were found to efficiently convert near-infrared (NIR) light into heat and displayed excellent thermostability. Upon irradiation with a laser they effectively triggered overproduction of intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) that promoted cell apoptosis. Therefore, the as-synthesized NPs may find use as anticancer agents for chemotherapy-combined photothermal therapy.
