摘要

On page 1261, Y.-G. Guo and co-workers present a highenergy room-temperature Na-S battery. Through employing small sulfur molecules as the active cathode components of the batteries, a novel mechanism is proposed and verified for the batteries' electrochemistry. The sulfur cathode enables a complete two-electron reaction to form Na2S, bringing a tripled specific capacity and an increased specific energy compared with traditional Na-S batteries working at elevated temperatures, while also offering better cycling stability endowing the batteries with a longer lifespan.
