摘要

The introduction of heteroatoms such as chalcogen, nitrogen, and halogen atoms to aromatic π-conjugated backbones is used to develop organic/polymeric semiconductors and to improve electronic properties of their field-effect transistors. The heteroatoms have a significant effect on the molecular geometry, the highest occupied and lowest unoccupied molecular orbitals (HOMO and LUMO) energy levels, and the intermolecular interactions, for example. Such systems are described by G. Yu and co-workers on page 6898.
