摘要

On page 8950, Y. Zhao and co-workers propose an insightful and attractive strategy for enhanced pathological permeability and retention (EPPR) effect in drug delivery. They fabricated a new Gd-hybridized plasmonic gold nanocomposite and then used a novel strategy by plasmonic feature-based localized and on-off controlled photothermal properties to increase the transportation and permeability of the nanocomposite (loaded with imaging agents and drugs) in the tumor interior, achieving high-sensitive multimodal imaging and simultaneously improving the therapeutic efficacy.
