Maternal polar lipids-enriched milk fat globule membrane supplementation to high-fat diet (HFD) dams throughout pregnancy and lactation facilitates bone development of male offspring at weaning and protects against HFD-induced bone loss at adulthood. The alleviated hypothalamic insulin resistance, increased hypothalamic GHRH expression and subsequently enhanced GH/IGF-1 axis activity partially contribute to the lasting beneficial programming impacts on skeletal outcomes of male offspring. This is reported by Xueying Mao and co-workers in article number 2001208.
