Selenoprotein-Regulated Hydrogels

In article number 2313122, Hongmei Liu, Tianfeng Chen, and co-workers report an innovative ultrasound-modulatable hydrogel platform with selenoprotein-mediated antioxidant effects to promote bone injury repair. This hydrogel platform encapsulates oxygen-enriched selene-incorporated thin-shell silicon within methacrylate gelatin, then releases selenocystine and oxygen under US control, remodeling the microenvironment of hypoxia and high ROS in bone defects. It shows promising potential for the fostering bone regeneration.
