Dehydrogenase-Catalyzed Oxidation of Furanics: Exploitation of Hemoglobin Catalytic Promiscuity

摘要
The Inside Cover picture shows a new and effective in situ regeneration system for oxidized nicotinamide cofactors [NAD(P)+] based on catalytic promiscuity of hemoglobin (Hb). This NAD(P)+ regeneration system has good applicability in oxidation reactions catalyzed by dehydrogenases (DHs) such as horse liver alcohol dehydrogenase (HLADH). The target acids (e.g., 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid, FDCA) were prepared from bio-based furanics with moderate-to-good yields in the Hb/HLADH parallel cascade reactions.
